Don't Do DIY. It Seals In Your Mistakes

Without professional paint correction, a coating locks in every swirl mark and contaminant. Once it's cured, it's there to stay.

The Prep Determines the Result

We apply Crystal Serum Ultra in a controlled, dust-free environment. Temperature, humidity, and lighting are all managed so the coating bonds properly and cures evenly.

30+ Years in Paint Protection

We've been protecting cars on the North Shore since the 90s. We know what works and what doesn't.

How We Apply Ceramic Coating

  1. 1

    Inspection

We check the paint under proper lighting. Every scratch, swirl mark, and contaminant gets noted. This tells us how much correction is needed before coating.

  2. 2

    Wash and Decontaminate

Full hand wash, then clay bar to pull out bonded contaminants that washing misses. Iron fallout, tar, industrial dust. If any of that stays on the surface, it gets sealed under the coating.

  3. 3

    Paint Correction

Machine polishing removes swirl marks, light scratches, and oxidation. This is the most time-consuming step. The coating locks in whatever finish is underneath, so the paint needs to be right before we start.

  4. 4

    Ceramic Coating Application

We apply the coating panel by panel in a controlled environment. Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra or Gyeon MOHS, depending on what suits the car. Each panel gets levelled before the product starts to flash.

  5. 5

    Curing

The coating needs time to fully bond to the paint. We'll let you know when it's ready for pickup.

Frequently Asked Questions

Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that bonds to your car's paint at a molecular level. It forms a hard, transparent layer on top of the clear coat. Think of it as a permanent alternative to wax. Wax sits on the surface and wears off after a few weeks. Ceramic coating chemically bonds to the paint and stays there for years. It won't wash off, it won't break down in UV, and it keeps the paint hydrophobic so water and dirt slide off instead of sticking. The result is a car that looks freshly detailed after every wash, with a fraction of the effort. For a full breakdown of costs and what to expect, read our guide to ceramic coating.

Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra, the product we use, has a manufacturer-backed warranty of 9 years and is one of the longest-lasting coatings available. Read our full guide on whether ceramic coating is worth it for you.

Yes, paint correction is a critical part of our process. Before any coating goes on, we do a multi-stage machine polish to remove swirl marks, light scratches, and oxidation. The coating locks in whatever is underneath, so we make sure the surface is as clean and defect-free as possible first. For optimal results, bring your car to us when it is new. See our new car protection guide for the full breakdown.

Store-bought ceramic sprays offer a thin layer of hydrophobic protection that lasts a few weeks. A professional ceramic coating like Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra is exclusively applied by accredited detailers, it chemically bonds to your paint and cures to a much harder, thicker layer. You get years of UV protection, chemical resistance, and gloss. The longevity alone makes it far more cost-effective than repeated waxing or DIY sprays. One of our clients was adamant he'd do it himself — he's an enthusiast who loves working on his car. Once he realised how much goes into proper surface prep and application, he trusted us to coat it professionally. He loved the result so much he's now bringing his Golf in too. Wondering how ceramic compares to newer options? See our graphene vs ceramic coating comparison. Or see our guide to finding the best ceramic coating in Sydney.

It's one of the easiest parts of owning a coated car. Dirt and grime don't stick like they used to, so a simple hand wash with pH-neutral shampoo is all you need. Avoid automatic car washes with harsh brushes, and use a ceramic maintenance spray every few months to keep the water beading at its best.

For a sedan, professional ceramic coating in Sydney starts from around $800 and goes up depending on the product and how much paint correction is needed. A new car in good condition costs less because there's less prep involved. We price based on what the car actually needs, not a flat rate. For full pricing details, see our ceramic coating guide.

Yes, by a wide margin. Wax lasts a few weeks before it breaks down. Ceramic coating lasts years. Wax offers minimal UV protection and no chemical resistance. Ceramic coating handles both. The only advantage wax has is the upfront cost, but you'll reapply it dozens of times over the lifespan of a single ceramic coating. Over five years the ceramic works out cheaper.

We're based in Hornsby on Sydney's Upper North Shore and Gosford on the Central Coast. We regularly service customers from Wahroonga, Turramurra, Pymble, St Ives, Berowra, Asquith, Hornsby Heights, Erina, Terrigal, Woy Woy, Kariong, Wyoming, and surrounding areas. If you're nearby, get in touch. We'd love to help. For paint protection film options, see our PPF page or read PPF vs ceramic coating if you're deciding between the two.

Want Even More Protection?

Ceramic coating handles UV, chemicals, and easy washing. But it can't stop stone chips or scratches from road debris — that's what PPF does. Most of our ceramic coating customers add PPF to the front end for complete coverage.

A Note from Chris

We've stripped coatings off cars where someone skipped the correction and locked in every swirl mark. The coating bonded fine, the problem was the surface underneath it. That's why we spend most of our time on the prep, not the coating itself.

Not every car needs a coating, and if yours doesn't we'll tell you. Get in touch and we can have a look at what you've got and let you know what makes sense.
