Get Your New Car Ceramic Coated in Gosford

Living on the Central Coast means your car's paint is up against a lot. The M1 throws up stone chips and road grime on every commute. Salt air off the coast dulls and corrodes unprotected clear coat. And the UV out here oxidises paint faster than most owners realise, especially from September through March.

Ceramic coating deals with all of that. We use Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra, a professional-only coating rated at 10H pencil hardness with a 9-year manufacturer warranty. It bonds to the clear coat and creates a UV-resistant, hydrophobic shell. Water beads and sheets off, dirt releases during washing, and the paint stays protected from salt air, bird droppings, and tree sap.

Why ceramic coating matters on the Coast

Salt air is the big one on the Central Coast. If you're near the water in Terrigal, Woy Woy, or anywhere along the coast, that salt sits on the paint and eats into the clear coat over time. You might not see it happening, but after a few years the paint starts looking flat and dull compared to when you bought the car. Ceramic coating puts a chemical-resistant layer between the salt and the clear coat, so the corrosion doesn't get a foothold.

UV is the other factor. The Central Coast gets strong, direct sun for most of the year. UV breaks down clear coat and fades the colour underneath. Ceramic coating blocks UV in the same way that window tint blocks it from your interior. The paint holds its depth and gloss instead of slowly washing out.

The hydrophobic effect also makes a practical difference day to day. Water beads up and rolls off rather than sitting on the surface and leaving spots. Dirt and road grime don't bond as easily, so a regular wash actually gets the car clean. Most of our customers say the biggest change is how much less effort it takes to keep the car looking good.

How the process works

You drop the car off at our North Gosford workshop and we handle the rest. The process runs over 1–2 days depending on the vehicle and the condition of the paint.

We start with a full decontamination wash to strip bonded contaminants, tar spots, and iron fallout that a regular wash won't shift. Then we clay bar the surface so it's completely smooth before we move on to correction.

Paint correction is the most time-consuming part. We machine-polish the paint in stages to remove swirl marks, water spots, and whatever scratches we can level out. This matters because the coating seals in whatever's on the surface. Once it's coated, you're looking at that finish for years, so we make sure it's right before the coating goes on.

After correction, we apply the Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra. By pickup, the coating has fully bonded and the car is ready to drive.
